Design Challenge
- Separation of rooms from central corridor (bedroom, living room, study)
- Differing levels of privacy needed
- Ability to open when desired
- Translucency needed for some but not all openings
Solution
- 3 panel sliding walls that can open up entire rooms at will
- Inserts with varying opacity for varying privacy requirements – from completely clear to opaque
- Translucency where needed – most inserts allowed light to reach central (windowless) corridor
- Gives apartment feeling of openness when walls are retracted, tying one space to next
